MDCS Programming
1. Infant/Toddler (Ages 1-3)
Our Infant/Toddler program offered accepts children from 1 to 3 years old. This program focuses on practical life exercises, food preparation, and baking.
Psycho-sensory motor materials aid in developing eye/hand coordination, body equilibrium, and cause/effect relationships. Language is also a big part of the program by introducing new vocabulary. Spoken language is very important as well as the children babble, then start learning how to say new words to the toddlers talking in short sentences.
In addition, art, movement, music, planting seeds, and learning about germination (nature) is part of the daily learning in the classroom.
Daily Schedule:
7:30 am-8:50 am – Children arrive in groups of 4
8:00 am-10:15 am – Montessori work cycle
9:45 am-10:30 am – Transition/outdoor play in groups of 4
11:15 am-11:45 pm – Transition inside for lunch in groups of 4
11:30 am-12:15 pm – Lunch
12:00 pm-3:00 pm – Nap
2:00 pm-3:30 pm – Transition for snack in groups of 4
2:45 pm-3:45 pm – Transition/outdoor play in groups of 4
3:45 pm-5:30 pm – Outdoor play until pick up
2. Primary (Ages 3-6)
Our primary program offered accepts children from 3 to 6 years old. We have 5 spots every year opened for children who would like to stay for their kindergarten year.
The program focuses on a deeper understanding of concepts and refining the senses through sensorial materials, practical life exercises, language, math, cultural extensions, geography, botany, zoology, music appreciation, and art.

10:30am-11:00am – Stories/Songs/Movements/Transition
11:00am -11:40am -Lunch
11:40am -12:00pm -After Lunch Cleanup/Transition
12:00pm-12:45pm -Outdoor Play
12:45pm-1:00pm -Transition
1:00pm-2:30pm -Montessori work cycle/Nap
2:30-3:00pm -Stories/Songs/Movements/Transition
3:00pm-3:30pm – Afternoon Snack
3:30pm-5:30pm -Outdoor play until pick up
3. Time Slots
For both programs, we offer three time slots*:
– 7:30 am to 4:30 pm
– 8 am to 5 pm
– 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
*These time slots are given by your child’s seniority and availability
3. Hot Lunch & Snack Program
Children in both the Infant/Toddler and Primary classrooms can opt into a monthly hot lunch program provided by Carino Catering. Snacks in the morning and afternoon are also provided by MDCS and focus on nutrition and healthy eating.
